From legs of carrots and pea pods extending to shoulders bearing a large pear over the front surrounded with tomato, onion, apple, banana, artichoke, and strawberry to the rump which is branded with organic earth surrounded with grapes, spinach leaves, resting on a large eggplant with corn extending to the green bean tail surrounded by strawberry, the 'Wholly Cow' is truly organic. An abundance of fruits and vegetables cover this wonderfully colorful and vibrant bovine. Artist Gay B. Phillips studied watermedia with many nationally known artists including Carol Barnes, Gerald Brommer, Lowell Smith, Morris Shubin, Serge Hollerbach, Judy Betts, Mary Wilbanks and for six consecutive years with well-known local artist, Finis Collins. Since 1990 has been actively involved with the San Antonio Watercolor Group, the River Art Group, the Texas Watercolor Society, the New Braunfels ARt League and Chairperson of the San Antonio Watercolor Month for three years.

This cow is one of the 'udderly' unique works of art sold in Herd 3 of the internet auction conducted by Business Here. The Herd 3 auction ran from June 02 to June 09, 2003.
