Cow Parade San Antonio2000

Nobody on the planet eats more butter than New Zealanders, who consume 26 pounds per person each year. In the United States, however, butter consumption is spread pretty thin - only 4 pounds per year.

Title: Cowrapé
Location: Cow Hospital
Artist: Val Alexander
Sponsor: CowParade San Antonio

"Cowrape" is decorated with an antique and traditional Mexican sarpe pattern from the artist's extensive collection. She has chosen a vibrant red sarape to drive the toros loco, and painted her nails with rosa Mexicana polish to accent her femininity. A fetching touch are her pink cuernos, a very appropriate touch to celebrate San Antonio's hispanic and cattle industry heritage. Artist Val Alexander has participated in numerous juried exhibtions since 1960, including award winning participations in the TFAA Annual, TWC Annual, SAAL Annaul, and the Ondernonck Purchase Prize from 1971 to 1973. She was the founder and former director of Sol Del Rio Art Gallery.
